TONN

Old Irish and Scottish (fem): wave, abundance

Architect Bangor NI Co. Down Northern Ireland specialising in low-carbon ecological architecture including house extensions, planning applications and renovations

Tonn is an architecture practice based in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland.

49% of UK carbon emissions are attributed to buildings. Heating and powering our homes and workplaces is contributing to climate change. Many typical building materials are damaging to our health and the environment.

Tonn Architecture is committed to using natural low-carbon materials to make healthy, well-designed and beautiful buildings.

Kerry Watton is an ARB registered architect focused on making and improving buildings for our health and that of the planet without compromising design quality.

Kerry studied at the Mackintosh School of Architecture at the Glasgow School of Art before working in London for RIBA and RIAI award-winning practices including Niall McLaughlin Architects. Her architectural experience encompasses high quality design across sectors including residential, commercial, cultural and educational buildings. She has worked for a range of clients from homeowners to large corporations and universities. Kerry has architectural experience on new-build projects as well as on refurbishment and extension of existing buildings. She has worked on and run projects from initial design stage through planning and construction to completion on site.

As the founder and coordinator of Architects Climate Action Network Northern Ireland (ACAN NI), Kerry campaigns for low-carbon ecological architecture and construction. She continues to engage with policy makers in the region to improve all buildings in the belief that fuel poverty and the climate crisis have the greatest impact on the most vulnerable in society.
